Aziza is a Lebanese Arabic “taraPOP” singer/songwriter. “TaraPOP” describes Aziza’s evolvement in mixing Arabic tarab with pop music. For her debut album, the aim was to highlight the theatrical “diva” image of Aziza, mainly through the art direction of photography. Moreover, based on a variation of Kufi script, the logo displays a traditional reference with a modern treatment, and acts as an autograph, a signed memento from Aziza herself.

It was clear from the onset of the project that a reference to traditional form and composition is important in her process of making music. To translate this visually, the logo takes inspiration from calligraphy and combines the subtlety of the hand with the stark precision of geometric forms created digitally.
